making the cards

Just for grins, I am using a set of formulas, a spreadsheet and MS-Word to turn some of my completed 80s teams into basic card sets for my personal use. I am 1/2 of the way through the "Styx Ferrymen," an Astrodome team I had that made the finals. It's rather interesting to see what happens with those stats. Schmidt and WClark both played 162 games (no injuries!). Schmidt walked 109 times, K'ed 170 times. He has a big line of K's in his 3's (3-5 to 3-9), and a big line W's in his 1's (1-6 to 1-10). A .244 average with lots of power, so only ONE of his hit readings is a single (and a single 1-19 at that).

I did not have the BF and HR breakdown for the team, so I had to guess on the pitchers. Also had to do best estimate on DP chances (for the moment). The cards are accurate, according to statistical probability (within the limits of the data I got).

Anyway, I intend on playing my guys against some of my old teams here, once I get 'em done (takes a few hours, from input to typing out results). It's a bit geeky, but I really like seeing the cards take shape!
