The 70's Sucked

Postby YountFan » Tue Jan 02, 2007 9:59 pm

OK, it has been a while and my most recent "The 70's Game" team started 0-3 and I can't seem to win games no matter the format. So instead of spending two hours to improve my team I busted out the drum machine and amp and cranked up a little rocker I call "The 70's Sucked".

[b]The 70's Sucked/b]
I was born in 1958 and I thought that the 60's were great
I came of age in the 70's but I still don't know what the means to me

Why does everybody wanna go?
Why does everybody wanna disco?
Why does everybody wanna go back?
I was there man, and the 70's sucked

It started out good fading from the 60's
But things got crazy when Frampton came alive
What happened to all those happy hippies?
When did they start to do that disco jive?

[i:35a68d9131]Yeah, now I got some back to the 70's team man and when you go oh and three you write a song about how the 70's suck. No matter what you do man, you're dealin' in bad hitters and bad pitchers.[/i:35a68d9131]

Willie McCovey's just too damn old. So are Aaron and Mays!
Yount is just a shell of who he would be.
Hey, who let these batters into the cage?

HEY HEY YF, another classic. this may be the best one yet.

A few more and you could make a CD, maybe Strat could give it away with a 5-pack as a promotion!

Hey Yountfan..

Another great song. Although I have to take slight exception with the 70's sucking... Musically you had the golden age of classic rock, Bruce Springsteen, Punk Rock, funk and disco...

It was a golden age for cinema ...

And for baseball you had 3 epic dynasties.. Reds, A's Yanks...

nevertheless... always love your music...

Oh yeah and If you are counting the yanks as a "dynasty" then the orioles would have to be included in this as well.

Hey you can have all that and still suck. You have to understand while it was happening disco did suck for most. Hell they blew up disco records at Cominsky park. The 70s also ushered in the concaine fueled drug wars that we are still paying for today. I remember sky high intrest rates. Rod Stewart singing "If you think I'm sexy...", Richard Nixon, Jerry Ford and Jimmy Carter too. Take off the pink glass and remember how it really was. No internet and most people had no cable TV, No cells phones and no ESPN. The only great things in the 70's were Lou Reed and Mohamad Ali. (OK M*A*S*H was pretty good too)
