Injuries for pitchers in a DH league only occur on a roll of 6-12 when facing the DH. When a pitcher gets injured you look at what the result of the play was which was a strikeout in your case. You then determine if the batter bats L or R. Once you have that information you go through the pitcher's possible cards to see what years could possibly have that result on a 6-12 roll.
I see that Tanana has a strikeout on 6-12 in both 1984 and 1989.
You can not tell the card year from an injury in a non-DH league because the pitcher uses the same batting card for each year.
