Panzer,

Thanks.

Almost time to put down my pencil and get my test scored.

It will be fun -

K pitchers

Postby honestiago1 » Mon Feb 06, 2006 10:08 pm

Langston always scares me to death, but he will K folks. I've never had him over a full season. Ace is right about BSmith. He has low WHIP, and should do well just about anywhere.

I always like Morris, but he never seems to have a breakout year for me. If he cost about 4M, he'd be a steal, since he'll win around 15 ball games if he gets decent run support, 18 or so if he gets a good card. He'll give you IP. Stewart has high hits-inning on some cards, and seems overpriced to me. Bannister might be good. Tanana works out well if shifted to a pitcher's park (and really is a decent K pitcher, but no better, perhaps, than Bosio). Welch might be a good fit

Again, if you get good cards, it won't matter about K's. I just like good K rate because a K halts all chances at movement on base paths, kills rallies, and takes pressure off the D. All your pitchers could work out, depending (damned Mystery card!). All I know is, I tried some pitcher's who gave up a few hits (like Ken Forsch), and just couldn't stop anybody. Personal preference, but I like guys like Soto, Hurst, Key (who has some bad K years), Higuera (when I can get him), and Henke out of the pen. Just what I dig, man.

You're right.

Of course, you can't be too confident with the results from our last series.

The upside for me - I know a little more information about G Nelson's card that I would want at this point, e.g., homeruns galore vs. RHBs. :(

Otherwise, I'm thinking Rod Carew needs a raise. :(

those stats tell us nothing. Nelson could still have a stud card. All the rolls could have been easily on the hitter cards. I wish I could say Willie has his stud RP year ;)

Oh, I am more than happy to believe that Nelson's card is a diamond in the rough. :D

Above all, I am just happy to be back playing this game.

Of course, [b:07998b99dc]I do miss the debate / exchange from the NLD gang.[/b:07998b99dc] Hearing the mouths' roar is what makes the game exciting to the bitter end.

I fear this league will be stone cold silent until one team pulls away from the rest.

Frankly, I'd like to see folks show up and post what cards they think they have before the season ends.
