What happened to B James Pythagorean Theorem?

Postby durantjerry » Fri Feb 10, 2006 6:07 pm

Last Chance '05 51 45 .531 2.0 25-23 26-22 530 399
Hokey Hedgehogs 60 36 .625 - 32-13 28-23 532 416
Seattle Steelheads 64 32 .667 - 35-13 29-19 505 392
I'm Last Chance '05. I just got a sweep to get to 51-45, 3 games up on the wildcard. 2nd in offense, 2nd in pitching and had almost all "1's" until recently, letting go Dawson and Doran/Lind(last series). Among the leaders in fewest errors.

Is it the suspect bullpen's fault?

It was that three game series against the Rain where you outscored them 48-6  ! that's screwing up the Pythagoreon Theorem!

I guess your bullpen is the weakest link in your team (along with weak results from your 4th starter). You started out 9-12, so you've been 42-33 (.560) since then which isn't bad. With 66 games to go I think you'll keep climbing.

durantjerry, how do you look with unearned runs?

OK, I just re-read your message. Not a lot of errors. I suspect the expected wins estimate does worse in parks like the Kingdome, where you can have 15-3 games on a regular basis. Those numbers would obviously skew the estimate.

That said, you're team #s look pretty solid and I'd guess you'll start winning some of the games you're losing.

I'd be interested in getting your league's team pitching statistics by team and your league's team hitting statistics by team in an excel sheet and sent to me as an attachment.

I've been messing around with crunching some numbers and I've got an excel template to do it for me.

If you want to I can try and give it some analysis on my end if you are interested?

Let me know.
