New $60 M/DH League – Ghosts of Baseball Past

Recently I got to realize that a number of the players in the 1970s game have already passed on to the other side. I’ve counted at least 28 players priced at $3.50 or higher that fall into this category. If there have been any other players in the $3.50 and up category who have gone to that great baseball stadium in the sky, please let me know, so that they can be included on the list.

Rules of the league:

1. There will be a draft where each manager will first select a stadium no longer used (12 unique stadiums) and two $3.50+ players who have died (these players will hereafter be referred to as “ghosts”). Stadiums still in use, such as Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, Dodger Stadium, etc., are not eligible for this league. However, since Yankee and Shea Stadiums are no longer in use, they may be selected. In other words, the stadiums must be ghosts, also. Draft order will be on the basis of a State’s Pick 3 lottery, high to low. Managers will choose their stadium during the first round of the draft. Rounds two and three will be a serpentine style draft where the last to choose a stadium will be the first to select a ghost, and continuing in reverse order of the first round.

2. Ghosts must remain on your roster throughout the season (we must show respect to those who have passed on to the other side).

3. Remaining players on your roster will be selected by the autodraft process. These players may be traded or dropped during the course of the season.

4. Divisions will be assigned based on the stadiums used. The four teams whose stadiums have the most westerly longitude will be in the West Division, the four teams whose stadiums have the most easterly longitude will be in the East Division, and the remaining four will be in the Central Division.
