Solid team except for Reynolds. You should have guys with N power at least to take advantage of the opponent BP#.

Why are you playing two 1 defensive players out of position? Shouldn't you play Rickey in left and Thomas in center to take advantage of their defense? Get another right fielder, maybe even go with a platoon, and put Raines at DH. I don't know if you have the $, but you could try some sort of offbeat Grubb/Bass platoon in RF, maybe try Roenicke both ways, something like that so you get some power there. Maybe cycle through some lower-priced guys. It just seems a waste when you have 1's to play them out of position. Good defense will really help your pitching. You don't notice it at first, but over the course of a 162-game season, it will help you win some games.

I can play Thomas in CF and Rickey in Left, DH Raines, and play a Gamble
Castillo platoon in Right...I guess this puts two OFs in their most effective defensive spots, but weakens RF...I'm probably debating about nothing,
but thanks for the input PillPop, I try it your way..

Incredibly, the team has had a fantastic start...24-6...leading the league
in both hitting and pitching....listed below are the changes..

SP....none
RP.. dropped Crim for Mohorcic

droppped White after 83 ABs, no Hrs and 553 OPS picked up Herr, early
results are good, platooning with B. Ripken

Injury reveals Larkin in his worst year, dropped for Bowa, to add cash..

Dropped Horner for D. Evans, killing righties as hoped for, first 30 abs he has 3 HRs and OPS over 1.000...
Used extra cash from Larkin drop to add Gaetti, platooning with Evans..
Very expensive platoon, but I wanted to see if I could hit one of his big years...too early to tell...

Injury reveal Gamble in his 83 card, dropped for Baines, and it looks as though he is in his best year....94 AB 7 HRs, .341 BA and 1.094 OPS..

now that I've gone thru this, I probably won't win a series for a week,
but so far so good...

That's an amazing record so far.
The only problem I see with a good start is while you're not doing anything to your team because of your success, others are going to be making moves and improving, so before long there is a good chance the playing field levels out. I've seen the scenario come up before, myself being the victim of that in the past.
It is a nice problem to have though =)

Lost a series last night for ,the first time current record, 29-7. First in hitting, by 43 runs with 243 runs scored...second in pitching, with 149 earned runs allowed...i agree, other teams will be improved with FA moves, my only concerns, as with all good paranoid managers, is with my
pitching...see below...

W-L IP Hits BB KO HR OAVG ERA WHIP Tilt
Carlton 2-3 68.2 53 25 59 6 .215 3.01 1.15 slight L
Reuss 6-1 59.1 65 21 36 5 .284 4.85 1.45 slight R
Gubizca 6-1 57.0 70 24 41 8 .304 4.58 1.65 slight R
Viola 3-0 60.0 73 21 44 8 .299 5.40 1.57 even

no concern with Carlton, don't know how park effects the others, but
althought they have great W-L records so far, they accomplished with
less than great individual stats....
relief pitching is strong so far..this might be easier...
