2003 year for 90's card set?

How does that happen? I recently read a post here indicating Moises Alou(2003) was on his 90's team. How?

All the mystery games have a few players who have seasons that extend into other decades.
The 70s game has a few players who have cards from the 60s and some that have cards from the 80s.
The 80s game has a few players who have cards from the 70s and 90s.
I'm sure you see the trend.
Why is it this way? Nobody really knows for sure, they just do. Some players just dont have enough usable cards from one decade to be included unless they have cards that spill over to other decades. It's not the case with all of them, it's just a decision made by SOM and we're stuck with it. I personally dont have a problem with it, it allows for deeper player pools.
