Our Mystery Card games - The '70s Game, Back to the '80s, Back to the '90s
by motherscratcher » Sat Jan 14, 2012 4:36 pm
I've been playing for about a year and only played ATG. I'm addicted to that and I've clawed my way through the muck to somewhere around average. I'm cool with that.
The guy that originally hooked me is doing a Back to the 90s franchise theme league. Franchises will be randomed. I just have a few questions.
1. Is there any difference in how BT90s should be approached as opposed to ATG?
2. What the hell is that "C" rating on the RPs cards?
3. Any advice for a moron making his first BT90s team?
Thanks fellas.

The C rating is a closer rating. The number next to it is the number of outs in a save situation that pitcher can go before being tired. It works the same as and R2 except instead of 2 innings it is X number of outs in a save situation.
I am a horrible ATG player so I can't say what the differences might be other than there is actually a limited player pool instead of unlimited.
Advice - Well there isn't just one type of team that can win. Just fit your players to your park and watch for indicators of what year card you have so you can determine if it is worth the salary or not. Read the Tips for newbies sticky in this forum. Mystery card strategies are about the same for any of the mystery card games.

Thanks LM. I will read that sticky.
Do most people drop players if they determine they got a bad card?

Faster than my wife changing the channel when the Victoria Secret commercials come on during the Giant's games...

grabbing others drops early in the season and getting great production is what make it fun. Like Kenny said. You gotta know when to hold and know when to fold 'em (and when to snake a grate card off the wire)

It's a 90's theme league with a bunch of mystery card veterans, best way to learn is to play with a friendly group of managers.
