Why was my drafted Roster Changed?

Postby justjg » Sat May 20, 2006 5:59 am

I'm really po'd. I spend my time putting together a roster and for preseason I see a bunch of new faces on my roster and others missing.

That totally sucks.

Read how the autodraft works. Other draft the same guys and you win and lose some. That is part of the challange.

post your team and questions. This board is relatively friendly to new players. However, it is very hard to second guess where you should put people on your draft card.

most people are friendly here but in the leagues you are playing some people who will take advantage of you.like injuries.sometimes they can reveal what cards the player is using....and if it,s a good card and the player got off to a slow start you might think this player is no good and BOOM...here comes a trade offer for said bad player....the other manager KNOWS the player has a good card and knowing this it,s pretty easy getting that player from an inexpierienced team owner...right matchstick? so ask as many questions as you can before and during your league and maybe you won,t get caught in this trap....this game is fantastic.i love it.just be aware there are some tricks to the trade.right matchstick???????????

If Paul Molitor is hitting .350 after three days but is injured, and the owner sends an email to the league if anyone is interested in trading for him, there is probably a reason. Two or three people will still make him very good offers-you just probably don't want to be one of them, particulary if your Jose Canseco has revealed a good year. You also don't want to drop Oquendo and Valenzuala (and others) who have had injuries reveal great years just because they are not doing so well in the first 2 weeks.
Injuries can help reveal what card a player is that season. Im sure you can find a discussion about it within a page or two.
You have succeeded in half the battle by clicking on message boards.

Dont be too shy to come on this board and ask advice on a trade or strategy. If its a close call, few people will say much, but they will let you know if you are getting burned.

I'm not sure I'm communicating this correctly.

I paid my $24.95. I spent my $80 Mil budget.

Then my roster was changed without me requesting it. I lost George Brett and a few others and gained Players I had no desire for.

What's that about?

Your Draft List is a WISH list not a GUARANTEED list

The draft list is not a guarantee of players you will get. It is your wish list. Other managers most likely are coveting some of the same players. Only one team can get that player and it is determined on who placed the highest ranking for those players. When you "lose" a player in the draft, you are given the next highest salaried player at that position and that WAS NOT on any other teams draft list.

Read the Rules/FAQs

Postby Outta Leftfield » Sun May 21, 2006 1:13 pm

It's important to read the Rules/FAQs very carefully. Those are the rules by which the game is played. Of course, they apply equally to everyone, but if you understand them, you can get the most out of the game.
