BEST VALUE LEFTY PITCHER???

I know there are several very good lefty pitchers out there, but who's the best? for value? Personally, I like John Tudor. He has one outstanding season and one very good season.

Viola and Browning are good 5 million pitcher, Liebrandt in the 4m, JH Johnson is good for 3m and Rasumussen for 2m, But the best are Higuera and Valenzula

Don't forget Deshaies and Hurst. I''ve had decent success with both of them....Deshaies more so in a pitcher's park, but his extreme reverse cards usually make him tough to matchup against.

Langston is clearly the best LHP in the set. :wink:

They are high priced, but will almost always get you wins. Curt Young can be a bargain if you get one of the 1.10 years. Hurst is a good #4 guy b/c he's relatively cheap and gets K's. Rasmussen can get hammered in a HR park, even on his good years. Knepper is a great, cheap options, but, again, have to beware of BP HR's. But he's only 1.5M, and can serve as a lefty outa the bullpen/spot starter, even on a couple of his not so good years.

Tommy John is very good value. He is never goin to be lights out but he has 4 playable years and is an S8

I've taken Tommy John a couple times and I've always cut him because he's been not bad, but TERRIBLE. Very few leagues I'v been in has Langston even been drafted!

I think Langston was a joke. He's famously overpriced. I've rarely seen anyone have much luck with John. I'm not sure why.

Reuss can be really good.

If you're willing to use five-day pitchers, there are a lot of good lefties: Blue, Candelaria, Sid Fernandez and Dravecky, among others, can all be good.

Deshaies can be great, but usually only in a pitching park with other pitching parks.

Mixed feelings on John. He won 20+ games my first season, but I've seen him stink up the joint too. I think the high number of hits he gives up can mix badly with HRs off of the hitters cards.

Believe it or not I like to use Deshaies in the Kingdome. I have had some great seasons with him there. Right now I picked him up after 81 games and he is 6-1 3.5 ERA and a whip about 1.2 not bad in the Dome.
