New Player Cards, When?

I was wondering when some extra player cards would be added to BTT80’s? This has been a request for several years now that continues to be ignored. The ATG must just rake in money the way it gets updated. ATG has player cards that aren’t even from a MLB season. While the BTT80’s can’t get HOF’ers like Tom Seaver or P. Niekro added who had some pretty good seasons during the 80’s. I understand there’s only one person working on the SOM games, but come on after at least 5 years still nothing the excuse runs thin.

I just hope TSN delays ATG VI the Japanese League expansion set a couple months (or whatever is planned) and adds couple dozens player cards to BTT80’s first.

I much rather have added player cards than changing to the current SOMO interface. If BTT80’s and it’s customers who play it are second class than at least adjust the cost to play a season to reflect that. The most significant thing done for BTT80’s since it launch has been done by a customer and sadly not TSN is YountFan’s site. I can’t thank YountFan enough for that. I seldom ever post on the message broads, but its just frustrating that BTT80’s is on a “dog years” timescale. I wonder what will happen first Pete Rose inducted to HOF or added cards?

The 80's is like the red-headed stepchild of Strat-O-Matic. everything trumps the 80's. I don't understand it. Was there really a need for putting time & effort into the '99 season? How about the free 21 game trial for 2003! That was important. Now we'll have to wait longer because it is time for the 2009 set. When is it the 80's turn? I don't even need all the new bells & whistles the other formats have. Just add some new players or even a version 2 with some new years for the same players we already have. If nothing is to be done then give us the reduced 5 packs all the time at least. If not, then leave it alone and get on w/ a new mystery card game like the 90's or a 90's/00's combo. You can call it the "homer era" or "roid rage", or just "The * era". Whatever, but do something besides ignore the mystery card guys

Also for the record, I like the old 80s interface better than the "updated" one that most of the other games have.

The way I figure it, the 80s game will get an upgrade sometime after the Mars player expansion for ATG version 1,642. Which of course will be delayed due to a site outage.

Lets be care full for what you ask for. The 80's game works great, but could use a few more players (say 100), but even that will chnage the game. We all know how differnt the 70'sd game is to the 80's. Part of it is the decade and players and part of it is the pricing. '

I know LMB has been in conference with Bernie of the 80's game and it some point he says we'll be brought into the new interface. That then will allow for cards and changes you all seem to want.

I feel your pain DarthRuvo! I will copy and paste your message and send it to Bernie. I'll will also talk about it to him. Bernie is really not the Evil Emperor, Darth. He is incredibly busy but told me he would spend more time on the Mystery games this year

Chess, you've known me long enough that I can never turn from the Dark Side. I not trying to rip on Bernie he does good job with time he has. I imagine he has bosses who want the resources to go other game besides the 80's. When will this time be used for the 80's? We have been patience, years of patience, which is the way of a Sith Lord. It's just a downer seeing rest of SOMO advance while the 80's remains stagnate. Especially, when the mystery card is way better than single season. It's baffling that single seasons set are more profitable. I played 98 what a waste of $25 when compared the mystery card. Now that's turning to the Dark Side

Maybe, while we're getting new cards how about changing some of the duplicate ball parks. I never understood this seeing how the game is based on a decade not a single season. Could of just made up numbers who would have known? Least I wouldn't, I don't have every ball park chart for the decade to add them up and get the average. Though when my order comes in the next few days I'll increase from 75-81 to 75-87 and might of figured it out when I bought those last two years. TSN always thinking ahead, just can't fool em :D

If we do get new player for the 80's I hope the pricing formula stays the same. I don't care much for the 70's pricing.

Oh, I forgot, I too prefer the 80's interface to the others. Drop down menus suck. I guess there's no pleasing me.

LM, don't leave us hanging! Even some off the record unofficial maybes would be nice know. The interface will change that's fine, figure there's no way around it. Hopefully you're not referring to the pricing.

After the Tournament is over we could all agree not to play the 80's or any other SOM game until the 80's gets a facelift. Painful, yes, but it's probably the only way we'll get any results.
