Don't do anything to reduce the mystery of the "mystery card"
-no "reverse l/r" line-ups
-no dice rolls
BUT
- how about revealing [b:08ec8f7d2d]all[/b:08ec8f7d2d] the cards after the season and not just those on active rosters.
- can we leave the "last ten games" history on released players?
 ALSO
I know a way to make it so the mystery card will never, ever, ever be revealed with 100% certainty. It may be impossible to program, and the idea was met with a disappointing coolness when I suggested it once before.
so here it is again:
Rather than assigning one of the five cards for a player... assign an 80 or 90 (or even a 95) percent probability to it, splitting the remaining probability evenly among the other four seasons. Resolve the mystery card probability at each at-bat, not each game or each series.
 George Brett is hitting .422 after your 4th series and goes down with that dreaded groundball + 6 game injury... does he have that lousy rotten '91 season? ... or could he have hit the injury on a low-low-probability chance?
Like it or not, it adds to the mystery of the game, and maintains most of the integrity of the dominant season. The major drawback I see is that it would slow down the game results when they are run, because each at-bat would have an extra calculation.
The whole idea is probably impossible from a programming stand-point, but if it's the mystery that draws you to this game, this should increase that attraction.
Okay... there it is.
Now kptnfmrs ducks  as the half-empty popcorn boxes and soda cups start flying in.
