Why isn't this team scoring more runs?

Well, my team turned a corner big time. After starting out the season 34-35, I've been on a 44-16 tear (includes being swept last night). The key has been continued strong offense, plus some overachievement by my cheap replacement pitchers. Hope it continues.

When I whined about my offense, these were my rankings:

1st in HRs
4th in BA
Tied 1st in SLG
1st in OBP
1st in OPS
7th in Runs Scored

My lineups have pretty much stayed the same except that Schroeder now catches against lefties, Smalley DHs vs. lefties, and Canseco bats 4th.

Now (that I'm jinxing my team to lose from here on out) are the offensive rankings:
1st in HRs
2nd in BA
1st in SLG
1st in OBP
1st in OPS
1st in Runs Scored :D

The real key is that my pitching has gone from bottom of the barrel to middle of the barrel.

Ok, no false modesty here.... I gotta say I predicted this. When I first looked at Yellow Dog's team I wrote:

YD's team is currently on a pace to score 970 runs. Looks like he's caught up with the expectations?

Overall, I'm not at all surprised that the team has vaulted to first in runs scored. I think it's to YD's credit that he didn't mess with his hitting and instead focused on fixing the pitching. Having done that, he in fact has produced a great team. Go, YD! :D
