Our Mystery Card games - The '70s Game, Back to the '80s, Back to the '90s

i can't find anyone to replace Buddy Bell that seems remotely worth it. Brook Jacoby has nearly identical offensive numbers but is a 3e19. after that everyone with good hitting falls into the 4 e 20+ category which would seem tobe counterproductive. Anything I'm missing there?

Same goes for replacing Joyner, as Durham (who I've never seen do well...used him myself and he hit under .200 for nearly 100 ABs and he always seems to get dropped) is much worse defensively with similar offensive numbers.

I've tried to trade Fernandez to no avail and even contemplated dropping him for a Uribe-like SS to free up more money. Any thoughts on this?

As for the RPs (Henke, Howe), would it be better to drop one now or wait about 20 games in to determine which is more effective?

Wow, this team is off to the best start I've ever enjoyed. They are 9-0 to start the season and everything seems to be running smoothly. There are a couple things I'd like to improve...but if it ain't broke don't fix it seems to apply. My next series is away in the kingdome...could be humbling for this team.

I started another team at exactly the same time...and went for the Kingdome. It is only 4-5. Pitching has been very poor and not enough hitting yet:

Any quick suggestions would be appreciated.

Kingdome

The Kingdome is going to skew your ERA's no matter what. Just keep an eye on those WHIPs. This team is going to score some runs in the Kingdome. You're going to need a stable of good relievers, more than likely, to compensate for that park. I think it's way too early to tell what you've got, pitching wise. Henke will be a keeper for you, obviously, but he is prone to the long ball -- careful.

Patience -- see if your hitting kicks in. The plan in the Kingdome is to squash 'em. Clark, Schmidt, Phelps, Ripken and Daniels SHOULD crush some people.
