In addition to the awards I've compiled a (subjective) list of major contributors to World Series teams -- players that either had a huge regular season leading up to the playoffs or had a huge playoff, or a combination of both. This list includes active players. Your list might look different:

Carlton 73, 76
Seaver 74
Reed 74
Jones 75

Eckersley 78
J.Niekro 79
Ryan 81
Sutcliffe 81

H

Thornton 75
McCovey 75
G.Thomas 76, 80

I want a refund on Carlton! 15-15 with a 5.13 ERA and 1.48 WHIP in 1971 of the do-over!

Carlton should be an automatic 'first-ballot' choice when he retires. My fans still hate me for trading him.

I've also proposed my own selections for the 80s award winners. Since you can't access them in the game. These of course could be debated:

1980
World Series - Canucks
MVP - Gary Carter*
Cy Young - Steve Rogers*

1981
World Series - Murphs
MVP = Mike Schmidt*
Cy Young - Rick Sutcliffe*

1982
World Series - B Babies
MVP - Mike Schmidt*
Cy Young - Steve Carlton*

1983
MVP - Bobby Grich*
Cy Young - Steve Carlton*

Haven't had the time to look through all the teams.

The Double Pleasure has 3 absolute locks in Oglivie, Yastrzemski and Koosman. I would also give some consideration to Belanger for outstanding defense and for Torrez if you look at his price tag and how many wins he got for it.

Not according to my ballot. That is the fun of subjective opinions. Everybody has one and there really is no absolute right or wrong. 8-)

Koosman was really good, Oglive drove in a ton of runs and Yaz scored bunch. It is easy to see the Pleasures viewpoint. But we have to wait for the voting to end.

I think Reggie Jackson is a lock next year being the first to 500 HR. Schmidt will pass him, but Reggie has been very good.

I'd like to float Dusty Baker out there for election this year. He had a very good career and played for three different teams. He was money in both the 70's and the 80's.

I'll post the ballots when the voting is over
