Been so busy at work that I haven't had a team going in 2 months, and I couldn't even manage the last one I had going. My muscles have atrophied, my mind can't calculate stats, my family won't speak to me....

I have an team auto drafting tonight (in a league with Penn!) and now I have strat rat And a "shining" story.

I think I can make it.

Ok here a five minute song to Bernie to help with the 80's cause. No, it is not 5 minutes long, but written and recorded in five minutes.

I know you're workin' on ATG III
But come on, what about the 80's?
Hey Hey Bernie

Where's that variable salery cap?
Some new cards. Is that too much to ask?
Hey Hey Bernie

Some people talk about the 70's
We'd settle for a few tweeks of the 80's
Hey Hey Bernie

Some of the players need a new price
For a list of changes contact Sykes
Hey Hey Bernie

I'd like to see downloadable stats
Seanreflex says "The 80's rock!"
Hey Hey Bernie

Why are we treated like a bastard son?
Our money's as good as anyones
Hey Hey Bernie

That is FREAKING HILARIOUS! If that doesn't put us in the driver's seat for changes, I don't know what will! Great job Yountfan!

By the way, I'm guessing that was Sean, Penngray, and Jimmy C on background vocals?....

I didn't have time to back up on the song, because I was adjusting my lineup against YountFan tonight. I'm glad he was busy with the song, so I may stand a chance. :D

Great song for a great man from a great man!! I'm going to toss you a start for the next great hit on your CD YF.

Check your PM...

I'm passing along all publishing rights in exchange for a free CD when it comes out.

Hey Hey Yount Fan,

I just played your ditty for Simon Cowell and he says you guys have a legitimate shot at next year's competition. They will even waive the maximum age limit for contestants if necessary just to get you on the show.

heh heh

Thanks for a great SOM moment!

Another cut for the album

Postby rookssa1958 » Sun Feb 19, 2006 9:15 pm

Here is my humble attempt, in honor of Opeing day, tomorrow Feb 20.

Sung to "Take me out to the Ball Game."
Feel free to make any changes necessary.

My manager strategy’s all set,
individual settings are too
I got OBP setting the table and
Ribbie men willing and able
a solid rotation from one to four
Firemen ready to close the door
There are no weak spots that I see
Could I prepare more?

[Chorus]
It’s opening day for my new team
Crafted with love just to win
Tonight for the first time, HAL roll’s the dice
Lord forgive me for chasing this vice
Cuz for 7 to 8 weeks my life’s screwed
Up early each morning to cry
I find one, two, three ways to lose
leaves me asking why?

Oh my gold-glover booted the ball
my big-time slugger struck out
my stud starting pitcher got pulled after three
to face a strong lefty, in came a righty
Oh, I think that HAL’s dice are loaded
When I’m up, he only rolls twos
but only one good move from the wire
gets me past these blues
