There has not been a change to the rules.
Period.
Let me try to use different words to see if everyone follows:
If you are a AL owner, the ONLY way you can acquire a player with 4 years in the NL league and one year in the AL is via a trade.
You cannot draft that player.
You cannot select that player on waivers or as a free agent at ANY point during the season.
The only players available to you via draft, waivers and free agency is the Excel file that was sent to each of you. You will see a column titled "league"-it will read AL, Both, or NL. That is your guide.
If a player has all 5 years with one league, he can only be traded to owners in the same league.
If a players has 4 years in one league and one in the other, you can trade for that player. Again, read the original posting-the rules are stated there.
I originally posted this idea in early June and received very minimal interest. I consulted with some who expressed an interest and those who did not and one suggestion was to loosen the trading restriction. In an attempt to get this league off the ground, I made that change.
Guys, let's not let this get in the way-the number of trades is extremely minimal in most leagues and I suspect this one will be similar.
Let's try to load the league so LMBombers can participate in the waiver process.
