Ok, I'm going to change the clock to 3 hours. If a person isn't going to be able to check the draft site all, or most of the day and they won't leave proxies, it's not going to make a difference whether they're given 3 hours or 4 hours to pick.

Definitely a trend, wait 15 hours to make a pick, 14 picks in 1 hour, wait 4 hours, make 8 picks in 10 minutes.................... maybe make a rules change requiring proxies for a minimum number of picks per day. I believe there was discussion in the rules about proxies but nothing firm was set. Just a thought.

I don't know how we could enforce a rule about proxies -- how would we know how many proxies someone had? What would do if someone wasn't using proxies?

I think we can only use the clock to force people to pay attention or proxy. And I don't think we can reduce the clock too drastically all of a sudden as this would be unfair to those who didn't know the clock was changing.

There are definitely some stopping points during each round. I would be down with a 1 hour time limit between picks. Maybe we can make some sort of announcement and give 24 hours notice. Anything to speed it up.

Roster compliance

A reminder that there are some minimum and maximum position requirements. I did a tally of everyone's team in these areas. Here's the highlights:

[b:a8c3769942]Catchers - MIN of 4, MAX of 6[/b:a8c3769942]

- Jablowmi only has one
- DJ, sphillip and YF all have 4 (can only pick 2 more each)

[b:a8c3769942]Pure Relievers (can't start) - MIN of 6, MAX of 10[/b:a8c3769942]

- canauscot has 3
- Hak has the most, at 8 (can only take 2 more)

[b:a8c3769942]Starting Pitchers - MIN of 10, no maximum[/b:a8c3769942]

- Sphilipp has the least, at 6
- BigA leads the crowd with 11

Some of my totals may be off. It's hard to count when so many pitchers are mislabeled.

Sorry I was a little slow there guys. Didn't expect it to come to me that quick this morning. I didn't want to set a proxy because once one of the homer parks were gone, I wanted to jump in and grab one before there was a run on them.

I'm going to change the clock again, to 2 hours this time. As we get further along in the draft I suspect some will become less interested given the diminishing talent available. I want to keep people checking and setting proxies. And for those not doing either, I want us to spend less time waiting for them.

Any thoughts on when to go to a 2 hour clock?

I normally would say start the 2 hour clock now but since I will be gone, my biased opinion is Monday. We will get done with the draft no matter what next week.

Will you be completely without access dj or just less access?

That's the kind of info I was looking for -- if someone's going to be away, won't have computer access, etc.

I will be completely without access but have a friend who can step in for me so the draft will not slow down.
