Is there any interest in an 80s auction league?

I was surprised that you guys didn't go after Phelps. I've never had much luck with him in about 4 tries so my odds of him doing well should be good?

Penn -- this didn't work for me this morning ...

Postby seanreflex » Fri Dec 30, 2005 3:14 pm

[quote:438e458942]5. We must open 6 new bids per day each, this is the only way the draft keeps moving. You will open 6 bids until you have I think 26 bid open or won total. Please remember this so that you dont just open players you dont want once you have 26 bids out there. [/quote:438e458942]

This morning I couldn't bid on players until i opened up 6 new ones ... I didn't really think much about it, so I opened them up; then i realized that i couldn't do any active bidding on players already opened because I had 33 bids out.

Is there a glitch, or is that what was supposed to happen? I had 26 open players at the time this morning. thanks,

Sean

Arrggghh. Penn got Schmidt for 22.5 which is a bargain in this market. Why didn't one of you guys trump him? I would've if I hadn't been busy at work.

Wish everyone would overlook my bids, too.

Couple of questions:

Can we open bids during the weekend? (I tried to open a stadium, but the site stated that there was some sort of problem with the bid date.)

How do trades work? (I forgot from last time.) Say I want to trade a player that I bid $8 million for a player that had an original bid of $4 million. Where does the $4 million difference go to?

sean, could be a bug somewhere. I didnt have that problem but I will look into to it monday.

Auction is now frozen until monday, all bids before 5 pm today are closed (I will move them off the outstanding list later). all bids after 5 pm EST today will get 72 hours added to them so bids expiring 6 pm tonight will now expire monday night at 6 pm.

have a great and safe New Years weekend everyone!!!

no bidding at all until monday, this is the best way I can handle this situation without constantly changing expiration dates so nothing expires on the weekend.

Trading is allowed after the auction you can trade away 8 mil player for a 4 mil player. The person you trade too would get another 4 mil deducted from their 180 mil auction $$$ and you would gain 4 mil from the trade. I dont know if this was posted but trades are allowed even if they put you over the cap!!

You have spent 180 mil and you trade a 4 mil player for a 8 mil player. You would end up with 184 mil spent, you can bid on any other players unless you get below 180 mil but it is allowed.
