Somebody please help me to explain to my pitchers they are not throwing batting practice!

Seriously, good luck to all left in the hunt still. 8)

Decline of the West...

Postby Outta Leftfield » Wed Apr 19, 2006 7:07 pm

I've got to hand it to Panzer. At game 102, the West was in a three way tie with the leaders sharing a .559 w/l pct and all three teams were tied with Panzer Ace, leader in the East.

Since then, my team--lucky to be one of the West co-leaders--has struggled mightily, going 13-17 (including an ugly 8 game losing streak). Yet --again luckily for me--I and my fellow westerners are still in a virtual 3-way tie (Warthogs trail by one), with our w/l pct having dropped to .530. So we've ALL been struggling. Meanwhile, Panzer has pulled away from the pack and now has a six game lead over the rest of the league. I guess that means he went 19-11 over the same stretch.

Not only do we have a three way race for the west but at least four teams are in contention for the one wildcard slot--which means there are at least seven teams with a shot at the playoffs. Only Panzer's playoff slot seems reasonably secure. It should be interesting from here on out.

Here's the league link, again, for convenience.

Just 5 nights left and the pennant race is still undecided.
Sykes and TRich only 3 games apart in the Central. The West is still a 3 team dogfight. (Penn, Sean and OuttaLF) 2 of these 5 teams do not figure to make the playoffs. Who will deliver in crunch time?

Report from the West:

It seems like I've been stuck at one game behind (but in THIRD place) for the past week. Three more nights to go.... :D

Now its a three way tie in the West...

Now it's a three way tie in the West. Six games to go. Is this close or what?

Panzer Ace has long since clinched the East. Sykes leads by three in the Central. T. Rich in the Central has a two game lead for the wildcard. Should be an interesting final six--and playoffs!

This has been a great league - wish I could've been more involved, but my team floundered throughout. Fun to watch. I didn't get much of a response on the league board, but I'd be glad to do it again (with the first shot to the current players and then open it up for other 2000 win members). Any interest?

Same rules, potentially different divisions.
