Rip Torn

Postby LMBombers » Tue Apr 24, 2012 5:31 am

I am torn between building a HR team for Polo Grounds or a pitching team for Royals Stadium. Time is running out to decide. :?

If I use Bonds and Mays for a HR park that doesn't leave much salary cap left for many other good players. If I don't use Bonds and Mays why bother? I don't want to be out homered in my own HR park. Then again I hear that it is difficult to win in ATG with a pitching park.

ATG is not one of my favorite games. I'm looking forward to the 3 mystery card leagues! It has been a long time since I have played the 70s or 80s. I told myself that I was going to wait till the upgrade to the main site but this theme sucked me back in. LOL

I don't know if this falls into the category of "Life isn't fair, get used to it", and it doesn't impact me, but I got to thinking that those managers who ended up with either the 61/62 expansion franchises or 69 expansion franchises are going to have a smaller pool of players to choose in ATG VI than those of us who selected the longer established franchises (such as I did). Since the expansion franchise managers would not have the same availability to players in the 50s, I was wondering if they should be allowed some bonus picks of perhaps two or three 50s players for compensation (with the realization that these players would not be part of their two franchises).

I am all for Ken's suggestion. I'll take the Rockies and the Mariners.

As a manager of two expansion teams that don't back past '69, it is true that I have a less plentiful selection, but I knew that when I made my choices. Its just a matter to trying to make trades for depth, i.e. trading a couple premiere players for several depth players. We'll see how it goes.

If its any consolation, I'm leaving Greg Maddux off my team! :( I guess $80 M only gets you so far.
