[quote:f98c374d71]I did a quick check...the closest one to maxing out the cap during the live draft is The Turtle. He is at $70.76...the most we can spend live drafting is $72.5 as you need to still auto draft 10 more players (at a minimum of .75 ea). [/quote:f98c374d71]
Correct, [b:f98c374d71]TURTLE[/b:f98c374d71] is at $71.51m and [b:f98c374d71]JACKBLACK[/b:f98c374d71] is at $71.35m. The draft for $.75m players will be fun.
Best paper teams?
Yes, [b:f98c374d71]TURTLE[/b:f98c374d71] and [b:f98c374d71]JACKBLACK[/b:f98c374d71] had nice live drafts but both clearly outspent their competitors by $7-10m on average which may explain the top-notch crews. On the other hand, you know one/two of those blue chip players will lay an egg this season (or misread a passable seaso). So, finding Pedro G's 1990 card would be troublesome with the dearth of suitable replacements (or ways to spend that excess cash). :(
[b:f98c374d71]My choice - [/b:f98c374d71]
I like YELLOWDOG's bats of Schmidt, Mattingly, Jack Clark (1B / DH / OF), Canseco, and Tettleton for his park (Kingdome). Of course, he has two (as of now) pitching parks in his division so his disemphasis on SPs and RPs won't be too problematic for him.
I like DDEAKIN's pitching (Saberhagen, Fat Sid, Hoyt, Forsch, Andujar) for his park (Royals). Of course, he has one SP too many for my likings and will likely drop Fat Sid to provide funds for this bullpen.
[b:f98c374d71]My team?[/b:f98c374d71]
I hope my gamble to lockdown the bullpen (Goose / Howe / Burke / Comer & Pastore - long relief / spot starts) earlier pays off for my division.
