At least, the Central as I know it, Yellow, Honest, LM, and Big.
The last one in to the Central is a rott... errr needs to send the message on to the East, you can post it right in here as they are the last four once the Central is filled.

Actually, all of you are wrong, Horace Greeley played for the New York Yankees in the late 60's early 70's (pretty much when they sucked).

Or, is that Horace Clarke? I always get the two mixed up.

Detroit Giants are first team in CENTRAL ("...and first in the hearts of America -- these lovable scrappers have wormed thier way into the hearts of every red-blooded, patriotic American with their brand of 1950s style baseball! Go, Go, Giants!" (man, this team is SO not me)

Preseason predictions and assorted awards and observations:
*"Instant Rivalry" award -- NY White Sox vs. Chicago Red Sox
*"Hey! You stole my cookies!" award -- billings (snatched LAD from me ONE PICK PRIOR) and geneva jack (took Schmidt from his rightful place in the Giant IF).
*League batting champ -- someone from Chicago Red Sox.
*Fewest steals -- Detroit (without a doubt, the slowest team).
*Best ERA--unless the Expos do it, I'd say LABT, or someone else from the WEST.
*"Yikes" award -- Brett in Riverfront. Canseco and McGwire in the Murph.
*Most errors--Whoever starts at 3rd for my team (I'm seriouly thinking of Darrell Evans).
*Best DEF IF -- The St. Louis Angels (Joyner, Grich, Smith, Decinces [or Oberkfell] with Oquendo coming off the bench).
*Best offense, power, infield left side: Philly O's -- Ripken, Schmidt
*Scariest potential combo, IF, left side -- Larkin, Brett
*Best potential IF, if they had a 3B -- Giants : WClark, Whitaker, Trammell, and four guys named Joe).

The average ball park:
SINGLES 1-6 HR's 1-10 (Adam's move west to the Astrodome made the league more balanced).

The southern fried Brew Crew is in. Just one team to go in the Central (Cinci).

Joyner, maybe, if Angels don't choose Carew instead.

I've got a lot of franchise players on these teams, including Joyner. Not many franchise P's, though. It could be the reuniting of the Brothers Forsch.

Cincy Royals being prepped

Postby Yellow_Dog » Sun Nov 13, 2005 2:30 pm

I'll get my team together right now (decisions, decisions). I figured out yesterday that I have 29 players that are exclusively mine (5 YR or the only other team on the player card is TEX/SEA)!

And just to screw up the divisions, I really think Atlanta should be in the west, since that's the division they played in in the 80s! :D I'm just kidding, by the way...

With their first 5 picks, the Cincy Royals select...

Postby Yellow_Dog » Sun Nov 13, 2005 4:17 pm

Jamie Quirk-He's gonna make the Cincy fans forget about Johnny Bench
Herm Winningham - He's got Winning in is name (and HAM!)
Ron Oester - He'll provide some power from the 2B spot
Frank Pastore - The second coming of Bob Gibson
UL Washington - UL stands for "Un-Limited" as in his potential...

I'll send the password on to the west....
