42 games in-check your teams progress

Greetings,

Thanks for YountFan for his spreadsheet which tracks usage. I'm bumping this post so you will all have a chance to check on your teams progress regarding the 110% of plate appearances/innings pitched rule.

Remember, once a player exceeds their limits, they must be dropped. Also, you need to carry 25 players at all times so now is the time to manage your roster to ensure you don't put yourself in a position where you have to make drastic roster changes later in the season.

At the 1/4 post....predications vs actual

Postby JOSEPHBONK » Mon Apr 17, 2006 12:14 pm

Since we just passed the 1/4 post of the season, I thought it might be interesting to compare predicted  results with the actual outcomes 8) ......I compiled the 7 full predictions from before the season began and matched them aginst the standings as of game 42. A outperform-underperform or neutral indicator is included to help you evaluate the quality of the crystal ball used. Also, the number next to the team name indicates the number of prognosticators crowning the club "the best of the best". (There was one additional pick of the KC IronMen as the king of the league but I didn't include that pick since only the division winners/wild card were predicted.)

East:
Actual Predicted Comment
Hootersville 1 3 Outperforming
Brooklyn(1) 2 4 Outperforming
Fenway 3 2 Underperforming
Perennial (1) 3 1 Underperforming

Central

Kansas City(1) 1 2 Outperforming
Yount Fan's 2 3 Outperforming
Two Dot Mt. (3) 3 1 Underperforming
Screaming 3 4 Outperforming

West

Old Town 1 3 Outperforming
High Plains 1 4 Outperforming
Catchers (1) 3 2 Underperforming
What No 4 1 Season is still young

I may have to DL all my starters soon. Their arms are all ready to fall off. Can I trade them to the Cubs?

Half way home-a look at the standings...

Postby JOSEPHBONK » Sun Apr 30, 2006 11:44 am

I will try to post a list of players who are at 90% or more of their usage after tonight's games (Sunday, April 30th). Just a reminder, once a player exceeds 110% of their 5 year average for plate appearances (hitters) or innings pitched (pitchers), the player must be released. Also, please keep in mind that you need to maintain a 25 man roster at all times.

Here is a link to the standings at the 81 game point.. the three division leaders remain the same since the posting at the 1/4 marker-the Drifters out West had been tied with the OldGeezers at the previous point but have taken a 4 game lead. The Geezers lead the wild card race by 3 games over the Long Shots and Screaming For Vengeance.

Don't remind me! Oscar Gamble is ready for a vacation and I don't know how I'm going to stay in 1st while juggling my starters and some of my better hitters.
