Bernie!!!!!!!: Gorman Thomas Base Stealing Flaw!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our Mystery Card games - The '70s Game, Back to the '80s, Back to the '90s

I noticed in another league - Gorman Thomas became unemployed and I didn't have the heart to see whether he had the "runs".

Otherwise, the only other fat player I've seen try to steal bases - Mike Hargrove.

Hmmm ... I see something here.

While I didn't keep Gorman Thomas much longer after his second stint with my team, you can draw a conclusion as to what card I had for that league.

Another hint: Gorman didn't last long in the other leagues either and he went close to 200 PAs in each (so, I doubt someone made a rash judgment as to his card year).

Hal was at it again with players that do, should not, ever steal bases. Lost a game 5-4 last evening where Steve Kemp led off the 6th inning with a single and was thrown out stealing. In the 8th, Darrel Porter did the same. Both players are marked do not steal, steal setting was at extra conservative with both hit and run and base running set at normal.

Talk about running a team out of the chance to tie the game with players that have no right taking a big lead off first base or even thinking about running.

What season to you suspect Porter and Kemp are using on your team?

Who is hitting behind them?

If you have a "B" rated H&R guy, HAL will toss the dice for you. You can tell by the box score or monitoring your manager stats to see if HAL's go them running on the pitch.

Otherwise, I sense TSN has a few glitches in the system.

Semper,

Ripken behind Kemp. Kemp could be any season except '82.
Thornton behind Porter. Porter is '78 or '83.

I did notice that I forgot to check the "don't hit and run" box.

That oversight is now handled.
