I agree that the rules seem to be changing with every single suggestion. I prefer the KISS method.

Simplify

Postby chess2899 » Tue Dec 15, 2009 12:17 am

Let us SIMPLIFY:

You play your teams in 4 different stadiums.
If you pick a HR stadium in the 80s, try to grab a pitchers or neutral stadium for your second choice and viceversa. Do the same in the 70s. You can choose 2 different neutrals. There will be no police, just trust.

We have 40 managers signed up. Our goal is 48 or 60. Please email your friends or other players in your present league and get them to join.

As far as autographed balls, jerseys, bats are concerned, you will have choices. Therefore if there is a HOFamer that you dislike, you can opt for other autographed memorabilia. An autographed Roberto Clemente is not available.

Get ready to play ball!

Autographed stuff are from 70s/80s players. So there is no Babe Ruth, Bombers. Even though Kevin McReynolds is not a HOFamer, should you win, I will send Bernie scurrying to the flea markets in search of a McReynolds autograph, just for you, James. :D

This is how we did it in previous tourneys. You just couldn't repeat stadiums within 70's or 80's. There were no rules about pitchers parks vs. hitters parks. If that's an issue for everyone, then let's just make it open, pick whatever park you want each time. I agree it should be easy... or whatever chess wants!

I would like to play in 4 Kingdomes, but there are none in the 70s.

That is fine. No repeat of stadium in the 4 leagues seems the reasonable rule. Try something different, but there won't be any penalties if you choose hitting stadiums in all leagues as long as they are different. Some managers do better with pitching stadiums and others do better with hitting stadiums. The mystery game odds will even it out in the end. I lost 100 games with a Kingdome team because I got bad cards. That is why many "sharks" play in neutral stadiums because thay can adjust easier and quicker when they get bad cards. There are more "neutral" stadium players available on free agency. Just have fun!

That makes it simple. :D

Just to clarify . . .

Postby ths92110 » Wed Dec 16, 2009 10:38 pm

Tiger Stadium has different numbers for the 70s and 80s games (70s = 13/11 SI, 16/13 HR, while 80s = 2/1 SI, and 16/13 HR). Do they qualify as different stadiums for the pupose of the rule? I.e. can I play one 70s team in Tiger Stadium and one 80s team in Tiger Stadium?
