If I'm not mistaken, it looks like Wilson is as good a card as Eck............hmmm, but to give up Bench for Fisk. I mean, I'm a Bosox fan and all. Funny that the combined BA and OBP are almost identical.

I say hang on to what you have. North is good, but tends to slant considerably more to lefties.

Okay, now I'm a bit confused..........I know North tends that way, but your previous thought, PWooten, was more OBP. I actually tend to think Otis is too much (but I love the D and arm). I don't mind the strong pen at all. Is it a given that Bench should remain on my team? I think so, for the power and durability. Got offered Bonds for Rice - what's obvious is I'm getting these offers from very experienced players, so I take that to mean I've got value. Oh well............hey, and no one's mentioned Harrah - I think he's a pretty good value - maybe a #2 hitter? The problem with multi-posts is multi-thoughts...........but I'm good for the ride here. Just a slightly seasoned rookie looking for advice and ideas.

That's a good looking team to start with Chuck. I'd rather see Mays in centerfield but I'd bet the Mays owner wouldn't trade straight up for Otis.

As far as OBP...your good. I would like to see one more Lefty with power like Hebner instead of Harrah or a hitter like Kemp/Gamble/Garr on the roster as DH. BTW...who are you planning to DH vs. RHP?

Thanks Jimmy C - but no DH - see my link near top. But I've been analyzing adding the one lefty bat - I see that need. Can't quite see losing Garvey for Cooper or Oliver, although there's some savings. Would it make at all sense to move Yaz to first - I do like Carbo in left! I'll also look at 3b - not married to Harrah, although a little speed there, with some power. But the lefty bat - am tempted to grab Matty Alou for cf. Keep it coming, you vets!

I like Santo in your park. I'd also make the Bonds (CF) for Rice trade. Then you could pick up Carbo for Otis. You'll need someone to platoon with Carbo (Vail, Wockenfuss, Clines, Pinella, etc.). Carbo and Bonds are 2 of my favorite 70s players.
