TEAM $100 mil hitting records

[b:2e6e7cc0ad]The Marquette Park Master Batters slugged their way into the record books in several offensive categories:

Team Home Runs - - - - - - - - - - - -313

Team Slugging Percentage - - - - - .516

Team Runs Scored - - - - - - - - - - 1000

Team Batting Average - - - - - - - - .292

Team On Base Percentage - - - - - .361

What's even more impressive about their performance is that there were no other good hitters' parks in the league other than their home field of Wrigley Field. There was not a single Fulton County Stadium, Jarry Park, Fenway Park or Tiger Stadium, but there were 2 Astrodomes (including one in the Master Batters' division), 2 Yankee Stadiums (bad for right handed batters, of which the Master Batters had 7 in the starting lineup) and the league's leading pitching staff was also in the same division. Dick Allen flirted with the triple crown and led the league in HRs, BA and RBI as late as game 120. Allen led the league in HRs (59), finished second in batting to Rod Carew (.365 to .343) and lost the RBI crown by one in the last game of the season to teammate Jim Rice (137 to 136).[/b:2e6e7cc0ad]
