When I try to log into Penn's site I get an error screen with a bunch of cyptic file locations and errors. Is anybody seeing the same thing?

Yup, I sent him an email about it; just got an email back from him that he'd check it out and get it fixed shortly.

This is a blast!

I have the weirdest freakin' roster, man. I'm in the Astrodome, but WHERE IS MY PITCHING?

I'm with everyone else -- we're gonna have some stiffs. But I LIKE it! It's like playing the face-to-face with original franchises -- you always had holes in the roster somewhere. Mine is going to be starting pitching and base stealing, it looks like. I think I have some very good hitters, though (Paciorek can stroke it, save for one year!). But I dont have a SS yet. I'm even lookign at 4's who can hit (THAT's a first!).

Great concept, guys. Can't wait to see this thing run.

P.S. We really should put a buncha proxies in place. I've been back and forth on the web for two days now, plugging in players. I only keep a group of about 8-10 up. Since I'n gonna be out of the loop tomorrow, I'll but in a large group of 'em.

hitters galore

Postby roofinghorse1 » Fri Oct 06, 2006 6:19 pm

gonna hope a bunch of washed up, never used pitchers will pull us through.....we MIGHT hit a little....jury still out on that one....but 81 should be one of the most interesting seasons we have....and have you noticed the "rookies" coming in for 82?(i,m sure you have) tons.....that will be fun too......can,t wait.......
now, like the other decade league,we will pick them rookies in reverse order of our standings with the one exception of the bottom 4 teams deciding their order by a lottery pic 3 order.....true?
(12-11-10-9) pic 3

and it continues like that until all "rookies" are either drafted or everybody passes........is that right honest ? Or will we serpentine that draft too? i,m not sure that this seasons 1st place team will be so powerful as to think that making them draft last every round would be fair to them......maybe after the 82 draft that would work, but maybe not after the 81 season.......thoughts everybody..?

A good point, but...

Postby honestiago1 » Fri Oct 06, 2006 7:59 pm

well, we can surely discuss that. I mean, with the mystery card, the same franchises can be radically different each year with NO roster changes. I think the rookie draft should be straight, as any normal draft would. I think, though, that after round #1, that round #2 should be in order of finish. Meaning if I had the worst record, but lost pick #1 in a lotto, I'd get my slot back in round #3.

As for league parity, we can talk about doing something with the draft from round #3 on. We could have all subsequent rounds after #2 be a different order, based on an all-in lotto. This would mean that round #1 is as per rules. Round #2 is "as finished" by record. Round #3 would be random, with every other round after that running serpentine.

Wwe can always figure this out as we go, however. I have no problem with a regular draft going, since we're all going to have up and down years, I assume.
