Interesting concept. Not sure I can afford an 18 team investment though since I always seem to get bounced in the first round of the playoffs and never earn any credits

For keepers going from one decade to the next, are they free keepers or do they take the place of your 1st pick, etc. Example, if I have Dusty Baker in the 70's and want to keep him in the 80's, does it cost me my first draft pick?

No, they're free keepers. I expect most teams will have a number of keepers. You will just get less picks at the end of the draft if you have more 80s players.

Does anyone have a spreadsheet or list of the 70s players that are also in the 80s game?

Let's get started

Postby BC Manager » Sun Jul 25, 2010 1:36 am

It looks like we've got 12 owners, so we've got a league (or leagues)! I'd like to have a couple of alternates just in case, so anyone else interested should put their name down.

I've updated the rules at the beginning of the thread, to reflect the change to doing 3 seasons for each decade. I've also added a rule that teams have to maintain rights to at least 50 players at all times. This should be relatively easy in the 70s, since we'll be drafting 60 players each. It will be a little tighter in the 80s.

Please re-read the rules to make sure you're clear on them and let me know if you need any clarification.

Will post about the pick 3 draw next.

Pick 3 draw Monday for 70s Draft

Postby BC Manager » Sun Jul 25, 2010 1:43 am

These are the managers and states:

BC Manager - Ontario
Canauscot - Michigan
sphilipp8 - CT
YountFan - WI
Jablowmi - Philly
jsam - NH
Hakmusic - MA (first 3)
Wesleyeugeneclark - CA
bigdinkent - OH
BigAlric - DE
cshannajr - TX
djkalle - MN

We will use Monday (Jul 26) night's Pick 3 draw (for states w/ two P3 draws we'll used the evening draw).

Draft order will be LOW pick 3 result to HIGH. The draft will be a snake draft (1-12, 12-1, 1-12....).

We're drafting 60 players each and 2 ballparks each, so strap yourself in for a long one -- we'll definitely be using a clock and proxies. I'll set up the draft site after Monday's draw (unless someone else wants to volunteer to do this).

I'm pretty sure sellingw wanted to be in the league so put him as alternate #1 for now. He should respond yea or nea to that in the next couple days.
