[quote:519f9ca726]Jimmy - I did make a nice change of direction in our other league (going from 5-16 to above .500).

Yes you did, and I'm feeling the heat. You read the cards well, and take out the garbage quickly. I'm a little slower on the hook...(check out Durham in our Leathernecks league).

I heard a [size=24:9b8c36657c]HUGE[/size:9b8c36657c] thud on the free agent listing this evening.

What a collection of super heroes :(

Did you hear that sound? That may have been my ship's main magazine exploding!! Got tired of looking at underperformers on my roster, and seeing winnable games go to the bullpen only to find out they were drawing straws to see who would go in and get bombed.

I spent $10 mill for Henke and Holland...YIKES.

Someone replaced my players with my typical cast and crew. Otherwise, my guys are still out on their 96 hour pass. They are looking very ordinary now.

If anything, I'm losing the winnable games due to errors or dice going the other way.

When I look at the match-ups, I figure the games would be close but some way my guys are making them closer.

Oddly, Clemens and Orel have the same performance stats (walks, SOs, WHIP) but opposite records.

Break-even over the past week. Funny when you know the card is good but the results are poor - you start looking for other signs that your guy will show those hall of fame stats.

For some reason, I think my team would do better in a hitting park.

Well...on the bright side, my bullpen has finally stopped losing winnable games for me. I guess $15 million will do that for you. That is the most expensive pen I've ever seen...much less played!!

On the even brighter side...my team is starting to see daylight...

Jimmy,

Daylight?

Is it coming close to you at a high rate of speed?

Yeah...that could be a train!! After being down so far since opening day, working up to only 3 games under .500 is feeling pretty good though...

You're right on the improvements.

I'm just hoping that you improve at the same rate as my team.

If I can get my team in the other league to improve faster, you might have a pennant race on your hand.

In our other league / conference, we have three teams about 10 games over .500.

Why couldn't I luck into the Central?

It's rough when you look at the league Semper is talking about. He would be 7 games ahead in first place if he was in Central. But instead, he's 5 games behind..umm...me. :D

Of course my team is getting a neck-ache from turning around so often to see where your team is Semper. In our Leathernecks league I have you right where I want you...a little ahead, easy to keep an eye on, but not un-catchable, 8)
