Brutal draft.

I'm glad I'm not in the Central with all those small parks.

I'm thankful I got R. Henderson as my #3 pick since I lost out on Brett and Mattingly at 1 & 2!

Geez. Got all the relievers that I put in for though.

And PHAT Sid. Muhahahaha.

Love the team name, Bjs...I was just listening to that exerpt from The Holy Grail the other day, you silly English ka-nigget!

You haven't yet dropped anyone pre-waivers, yet you still have over 9M to spend! It sure was a brutal draft! Almost every team has lots of $$ to play with between now and Monday.

I had El Sid and Dayley on my list...congrats.

How's it feel to have the sole hitters park in the division?

With the selection of small parks for this group, it will be fun watching the HR counter go round and round. I'll be honored to do my part too.

Of course, my team will be using kitchen mitts as gloves.

After looking at my team compared to the others in the division I think I'm suffering from a power outage a power outage. Those teams are gonna hit 350-400 homers!

Besides my team's sorry ass defensive skills (mostly "3"s), it will be fun watching whether the big bats can put a few balls in the seats.

Didn't get a solid 2B / SS combination (either glove or bat) and this may come back to haunt me later in the season when I could get the same offensive out of DeJesus / Trillo.

[b:e235ab4e01]Lineup vs. RHP[/b:e235ab4e01]

3. Guerrero, Pedro (R) 1B

5. Rice, Jim (R) LF
6. Thomas, Gorman (R) CF
7. Fisk, Carlton (R) C

[b:e235ab4e01]Lineup vs. LHP[/b:e235ab4e01]

[list:e235ab4e01]1. Lopes, Davey (R) 2B
2. Johnson, Howard (S) DH
3. Guerrero, Pedro (R) 3B

The pitching will be a weak spot for this team but looking for Stanley / McClure to work the long middle innings until Henke can come aboard in the 8th inning to close it out.

Hmm...well, despite the bad reviews Dusty Baker always seems to get as overpriced, etc, I guess I'll try him out...HAL handed him to me when Raines went elsewhere. Didn't like the Vampire's black and purple uniforms I heard...

Chomping at the bit...

Looking forward to fielding this lineup against the righties I'll be seeing from Bombers tonight at Royal Stadium...

1.Eric Davis (R)
2.Ken Oberkfell (L)
3.Dave Parker (L)
4.Leon Durham(L)
5.Dusty Baker (R)
6.John Kruk (L)
7.Darrell Porter (L)
8.Rick Burleson (R)
9.Harold Reynolds (S)

...and I'll probably scramble that lineup before Tuesday night's games! Against future lefty pitching, I'll field essentially the same guys, except Rob Deer in as DH instead of Kruk... Good luck to all!

Looks like the rookies are the only ones with access to the forum this week.

It's going to be a blast this season

OK, Here's how the Hurricanes will look...

Postby Jack377 » Mon Aug 28, 2006 3:05 pm

Lineup vs. LHP

1. Harrah, Toby (R) 3B
2. Young, Gerald (S) CF
3. Winfield, Dave (R) LF
4. Mattingly, Don (L) 1B
5. Horner, Bob (R) DH
6. Incaviglia, Pete (R) RF
7. Valle, Dave (R) C
8. Washington, U.L. (S) SS
9. Gantner, Jim (L) 2B

Lineup vs. RHP

1. Harrah, Toby (R) 3B
2. Lowenstein, John (L) RF
3. Winfield, Dave (R) LF
4. Mattingly, Don (L) 1B
5. Hassey, Ron (L) C
6. Horner, Bob (R) DH
7. Van Slyke, Andy (L) CF
8. Washington, U.L. (S) SS
9. Gantner, Jim (L) 2B

Hoping that I get good years from 4 potentially strong SPs and get lucky with a couple of guys in the pen...I sure will miss Willie Hernandez from last round! We may struggle a bit against lefties until I get the lineup figured out, but we shouldn't see more than 30% or so...

Most of all, I'm hoping to avoid starting 4-17 or 1-11, like the last two leagues!
