Thanks for dropping Carmelo, made me give up my resolution to hoard some cash going into the season! I'll have an interesting time trying out no-field platoons against LHP until I get some reveals. I'll be interested in Hendrick later if I get one of the squirrely Barfield years.

PLAYYYYY BALLLLLLLL !! :D :D :D

Gee. My pitching looks good after 1 night's play. Hitting is not too shabby either.

Not sure if I should fret that I was outscored in the opening series, 21-3, or rejoice that despite the RA/RF, I managed to win one game! I'm defying the pythagorean theorem already! :D

Dang, Sykes... what a way to start the league out..

Looks like my hitting will be solid this year, but i'm definitely going to have to keep my eye on my pitching..not a stellar opening series for my starters.

my first injury reveal is Bowa's worst year.. well, at least i know early!

Power Shortage...

Postby Jimmy_C » Thu Aug 31, 2006 9:43 pm

I think the power went out on my team...did somebody trip over the plug? My guys have 2 (yes...count 'em...TWO) homers after 9 games. YIKES!!

On a good note, the pitching has done a very good job. :D

MRMS, you'll see I declined your counter-offer. Will need to do the one I offered or come up with another alternative.

Dropped Soto. Not sure if it was a mistake. He lasted on the FA pile for all of 8 seconds. I had his ton of walks card (at least it appeared that way after 6 starts - maybe I was too rash in my decision making) Had to go to the old Aw-shoot stand-by of Uncle Charlie Knuckles Never finishes more than 2 games above or below .500... Between the .180 batting average of Winfield, and the 5-1 record of Steib, I don't know what move was worse.

I saw the initial flurry of pitchers hitting the discard pile - nothing I was jumping up to grab anyway...

27 games in and i no longer have any of my original starters.. didnt do it by design, just some wickedly bad cards i think.

Hopefully my acquisition of the discarded Soto and Henke bring me back into contention

Excuse me I need to vent.

I have great cards on nearly all my offensive players (thornton 78, Herr 85, Thon 83, Bell 80, Lonnie 83, Plus a good year from Ogilve. the only missing pieces are a bad year from Kirby 89 and An unknown year from Winfield) In addition I have two great starters in Clemens and Blyleven. somehow this combination has led me to the WORST START IN THE LEAGUE. How is this possible?

if things do not turn around I will be sitting on the sidelines come round 4.... As you can tell I am grumpy.....
