Paul, I really respect your desire to want to do this "as advertised", but it's not working. I think we risk losing more teams if we DON'T institute time limits, then those who may like the fact that we put them into effect.
I really think the 6 hour limit (within the time frames) is pretty fair. As I said before, even if a team is skipped it's not like they LOSE the pick completely.
Can we please put it into effect for round 2 and beyond?
Guys, even if we don't impose the limits officially, I will allow my pick to be skipped if 6 hours between 9 AM and 10PM has passed and I have not picked. Please don't wait for me.

I am playing this season, but that was the end of the original commitment. It's been fun, but it think the time to bow out has come, But I will not be drafting, just skip me.
Why?
1) in looking at the player pool it it doesn't really matter.
... a) They basically all suck in some way
... b) I can just just as good in the AD
2) by skipping my turn it will save time for everyone else

With all due respect to the fine group of managers we have, I think it is probably time to pull the plug on this league. I sense ambivilance, discord, and/or a general lack of interest in getting on with it. Why don't we just move on to other things. Some of the things that attracted us to the concept in the first place seem to have lost their luster over 5-6 seasons. That happens. It's not a big deal.

There's no reason to quit the league. That's really not fair to teams that have built up their squads at this point.
Besides, I don't think anybody (but maybe Yountfan) has talked about quitting. We just have a couple of managers who evidently have difficulty doing the live draft thing with their schedules.
Don't quit altogether, just adjust and use the time limits?

I do not want to quit, I sent someone my # so they can text or call me when it is my turn. I have an extra 3rd round pick, but I am fine if we decide to only do one round of the draft. I already have my team created, so I really do not want to quit.

Guys, I will very upset if we quit this league now. I have finally built a squad that competes (although I got smoked in the finals!).
Let's gather some perspective and give guys who have other commitments a firm idea on a pick clock and that they will be skipped if they don't meet it.
Simple as that. I check often enough for anyone to send me their contact information and I can try and keep the line moving ...

Yea, don't pull the plug.. It took me 6 seasons to win the championship! :-)
I dont think that anyone really wants to quit, itjust seems like people have been busy.
I am ok with any outcome-- either autodraft or firm and quick draft clocks. I just want to see this draft move.

Quit the stupid and unnecessary draft. yes, quit he seasons, no.
We already have 12 keepers, who else you gonna snake in this draft that is worth it? I need a LF, there about about 10 guys who will do. I don't need to draft them live.
UG made the first pick 14 Apr 2009 01:39. People named their keepers so they know there is a draft. I just don't understand it, but then I'll feel real bad when I find out why the draft is slow. Life happens, I guess I'll stop being a a$$ and shut up. sorry for the rant.

If they still can't find a way to get us a proxy or a pick, I'm sure they won't mind being skipped.
The draft is kind of important because the teams picking at the top do have an advantage that will be erased by going with a autodraft. Not that it's a HUGE advantage, but still an advantage.
