I agree completely with the Braves. A total steal at 15. On the other hand, the first pick of the pair, the Tigers, seems like a giant reach at 10th. Maybe Alan is from the Motor City, Motown, Paris of the Midwest? Neither Detroit or Atlanta had a decent SS in the 70s.
Speaking of Giants, the Giants-Astros have a lot of great players, although they'll be stuck in a pitchers park. If San Francisco had warmer summers, Willie Mays might have been the first to break Ruth's record.
Royals-Twins will be a good combo. I didn't realize that the Twins had a lot of good pitchers come through; and I also didn't appreciate how mediocre the Royals staff was. Will Carew play 1st, or will it be Killebrew, Aikens or Mayberry? Pretty nice choice to have. I think Frank White is overpriced which is too bad because I certainly remember him as a prominent player on those Royal teams of the mid and late 70s. If Brett and Carew both have good years....
