well, the season is finally over, in dramatic fashion i might add!

congrats to the Ankle Biters and Doc Gooden who threw a four-hit gem in game 7 to capture Bracket 2 championship over the Yankee Clippers!

It was a wild playoff season, which made it fun to watch from the sidelines (thanks to the yankee clippers :)

see you in round 2..

congrats again, MRMS1970

Two game-7 championships in one night, too much to ask!!

Postby JIMDAKE » Tue Jun 20, 2006 7:13 am

Shocked and awed to get my first ring playing against this august crowd! A George Mason/CAA victory for this 47 seed playing his 3rd online SOM season (& 2nd 80s). IMB came back from down 1-3 to force game 7, with both staff aces starting (Gooden and Reuschel). Gooden walked 7 with 4 hits but spread 'em out in a complete game. The lumber came through finally (dog-year Murray, and Horner's 7th playoff dinger), as it saved my bacon all season long. Congrats to IMB for putting up a great fight with his Wild Card team (5 game 1st round win too) and "ESP award" goes to the good doc who predicted 7 games all along.

Oh, the 2nd championship......Canes over Oilers!!!! A SWEEEEEET night for this former Raleigh-ite now living in, of course, Hartford (where Peter Karmanos is NOT appreciated, although the franchise is begrudgingly still followed)!

...ok, fun over, back to round 2!
:D :D :D :D
