Here are the rules:
1.players are elligible for the seasons from the first carded year to their last, when they "retire". The exceptions are for 70's players that also have an 80's card. Those players don't retire until their last carded year in the 80's game. One exception to that rule is if the 80's card is a 75¢ card then they are only considered a keeper player for you thru 1979.
2. You can use any 75¢ player in any season. They never retire. They can never be a keeper either. All 75¢ players are free agents every season.
3. You can keep all players on your roster from one year to the next that has a salary over 75¢ as long as they haven't "retired".
4. There will be a rookie draft of players before each new season. Rookies are players with a salary over 75¢ who's first carded year is the new season about to be played. The draft order for the rookie draft is based on the just completed season standings. The 4 teams with the worst record will give a lotto state and the numbers of the 3 digit state lotto will be used for a random order of the first 4 picks. The next 4 picks will be the non-playoff teams in order of worst record to best. Tie-breaker will be worst H2H record then worst run differential then commissioner's decision. The last 4 picks of the draft are the playoff teams from the prior year. First round loser with worst regular season record gets pick #9 followed by the other first round loser. Finals loser gets pick #11 and the Champ gets the last pick in the FA draft. This same draft order is used each round of the draft which lasts until there are not enough FA left to pick for a full round or everyone is done, whichever comes first.
5. Draft Card - Your new draft card can include elligible players from your prior year's ending roster, your rookie picks, 75¢ players or elligible players that were free agents at the end of the prior year. Keep in mind that you lose rights to any player NOT on your roster after the AD. You don't have to keep players on your prior year's roster but if you don't draft them then they are now considered free agents for anyone to pick up.
6. You must immediately drop any players you get in the AD that are not elligible for that season which would either be players over 75¢ that are not rookies yet, players that have already retired or if you mistakenly took someone else's player.
7. 80M, 1971 & 1972 (no-DH), 1973-1989 (DH)
