Jablowmi is deffinately one tough competitor however in this league if you have an advantage in one of the leagues you could be suffering in another one. The best thing to do is to simply go with San Diego as your first pick.

The good part is that I think every team has some good points somewhere. The Padres for instance are truly bad in 1969 but do have some redeeming players like Winfield, Gwynn & Peavy on their other teams that could be very useful. The really fun part is trying to find matching teams that really work well together in at least a couple of the games. :)

I will trade up for the Phils, despite bad teams in 69 and 86!

Sorry papany, but I had a PM regarding Jablowmi that I hadn't seen when I responded earlier, so we'll go with him and will use you as a backup. I think durantjerry is in again, but haven't been able to get in touch.

Jablowmi, please pick a lottery state.

Thanks to both,
Paul

70's and 80's player's rights

Postby ROBERTLATORRE » Mon Mar 02, 2009 7:41 pm

Paul,

Can you post what the rules for the 70's and 80's are again? Most cards with an AB/IP tiebreaker?

Also, should we start a fresh thread for the draft?

Are we waiting to see the 2008 players before drafting? Sounds like the new game will be up and running in a day or two.

Yes Randy, we are waiting until everyone can get a look at the new cards before starting the draft.

Tuesday PM lottery picks gentlemen. Low to high.

Updated rules to follow.

Any interest in coming up with prizes again?

Welcome Keith, Slug, and Jablowmi. Here are the updated rules.

Each manager will pick 2 franchises from those that have operated since 1969. This excludes Toronto, Seattle, Florida, Colorado, Tampa Bay, and Arizona. That leaves 24 franchises (combine Senators/Rangers and Pilots/Brewers).

Managers can have one of the teams they had the first season, but not two.

Once franchises are drafted, you will keep both franchises through 5 different leagues, all played at the same time. Those leagues will be: 1969, the 70's, the 80's, 1986, and 2008.

A point system will be in place that works as follows:

1 point for each victory +
5 points for making the playoffs +
5 points for making the WS +
5 points for winning the WS.

The manager with the most overall points at the end of the five leagues is the WINNER. If you care to donate a prize to the winner, please let me know. This is not required, but sure makes things fun.

Here is the fine print:
- $100 M Leagues, 5/10/20 waivers
- Serpentine draft of teams based on lottery (low to high).
- DH in all leagues EXCEPT 1969
- Player eligiblity for 70's and 80's goes to the team for which the player had the most seasons on their card. In case of ties, AB/BB or IP will break the tie. If that manager does not take the player they are eligible for any team that appears on their card.
- 25-man rosters at all times.
- Stadium must be picked from one of your two teams.
- Trades are limited to no more than 2 per team and can involve no more than 4 players on a roster. In otherwords, no more than 4 players on a roster could be from teams other than your two picks.
