Thanks Toi san for coming up with a non-OF player. I just know I will get stuck with two horrible OFs.

Actually I think it would be worse to have Bill Schroeder and John Stearns. At least you could put Cliff Johnson at 1B or DH and he could halfway hit.

How about Lezcano and Ellis Valentine?

I think both Valentine and Lezcano can be real good ... but they also do something that you can get for a lot less money (mash lefties). Lezcano has the one awesome year and if whoever gets him happens to pull that card he can turn into one of the best bargains in the league....

I tried to pick a player who would have to be used. It'd be hard to bury a $3.5 mil catcher on your bench. Some of the players are OK, at least as platoon option (although definitely overpriced for that role), and others you could bury on the bench in a worst-case scenario (like my first pick, Mickey Rivers---way overpriced, but there are worse things than having a 2 CF on the bench).
