Dropped SP Question

I'm playing in an 80s league and noticed the following oddity (suggesting rules I am unaware of). A pitcher (with the * rating) started game 2 of a series last night and then was dropped to waivers by that team. The pitcher was then picked up by another team and now is listed as starting game 1 of tonight's series (which is against me). This would mean this pitcher would be starting 2 games in 3 days with only one day of rest. I thought that injuries carried over for players dropped to waivers but can pitchers ignore their standard rest requirement when changing teams in this manner? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

called pass the trash where 1 certain pitcher got passed from 1 team to another after each series so he could make 54 starts.

Since we can't see the fatigue level, I suspect that the new team inherits the SP's fatigue level. (I also kind of suspect that when a SP goes more than 9 innings, he's fatigued for he next start.)

Now that's a question I haven't come across yet. I think you might be right, but haven't done research to make sure. Can anyone confirm?
