I'm still relatively new to the game. I'm intrigued by the non-DH concept -- I much prefer it in the on the field game. What are they key differences in SOM that make it fun? Is it the same as on the field, -- i.e. a strong bench, a deeper bullpen, etc -- or are there other things? Just curious. Thanks.

You got it. I've noticed that having a deeper bench and deeper pen help in games that have late inning switches. Also gives some good hitting pitchers a little advantage.
I like it because you are forced to have a team that can't hide a big bat who can't hold his own on defense, although my last non-DH team includes some stone hands (Petralli, Sheets, Oliver).
