Waivers running late and my team sucks....

In TSN_15243, several of us are waiting with baited breath for the waivers that were supposed to run at 5 PM ET. A couple of questions....
Is this unusual? If a hour wait occurs occasionally, I'll sit and wait while I watch the Jets and Pats. If late means then it'll run overnight, then I can quit hitting refresh :D
I also had the worst draft I'd ever had; not a single offensive starter that I selected came to me in the draft. Just about the ugliest offense I've ever seen. If you have any ideas, I'm all ears - here's the team...

You should receive the Red Badge of Courage award for that team. Best advice would be to take a mulligan and try again. Failing that I'm assuming you're number 1 on waivers (or no lower than about 3), so who's available and who you get will go a long way towards determining what's salvageable. On offense you could at least try to build around Carew, Lemon/Young, even Wilfong since other holes are more pressing. Good luck.

Egads. Carew and lemon are the only two guys I'd keep for sure. Might as well see if Seitzer and Wilfong will perform, as they'll be cheap and could fit your stadium. Hopefully you're pitching will come through for you. I think you still need a masher or two in the middle of the lineup at Royals. Glenn Davis is often available. The biggest problem I see is that your defense won't be that great either, which will hurt your pitching. Good luck.
PS, not sure why waivers would run late. Wouldn't be surprised if you have to wait for Bernie tomorrow morning or even at 5 pm ET tomorrow.

A second 5 PM has come and gone; still no waivers run. One of our owners has e-mailed TSN three times at least. How do we get Bernie et al at TSN to look at out issue?
Frustrating.....

Your waivers ran, I think. (The amount available changed as I was looking at your roster.) Could be wrong.
Look for 2b's for power. And BA and positive clutch.
Grab Keith Hernandez ASAP if he's available.
Al Oliver as a DH.
George Hendrick (maybe) for some pop in RF /w good D. He drives in runs despite poor OPS.
Waivers ran; Offense is vanilla...

Ok, waivers did run about 5:15 or so; thanks to TSN.
My team will be an adventure.
I put waiver claims on several of the big bats available; Dw. Evans, Carter, Dawson, Tartabull, Jose Cruz. Got two, Evans to play right and Cruz to play left. Picked up Quis, figuring that if I'm going to live and die by my pitching staff....
Heres my team (RH / LH platoons):
C Lavalliere / Heath
1B Carew
2B Wilfong / Flynn or Ready
SS Franco - Julio Franco as my starting SS says it all...
3B Seitzer / Ready
LF Cruz
CF Lemon / Young
RF Dw. Evans
DH Glenn Davis
Damn thats ugly...

Geez, you're not kidding. This is a pretty ugly team. Your pitching does look very good, though, and I think you're right to emphasize it.
A couple of thoughts, though:
Can you upgrade at C? Hassey can be a real offensive force vs RHP in one of his good years and he's often available. You do need to platoon him. Any cheaper RH Cs out there than Heath? Scioscia is a more balanced C with good defense and OBP and he's often available. Or maybe Whitt? J Davis? Wynegar? All the good catchers can't be taken, I would guess.... On this team, I might tend to say, "Damn the defense" at catcher and try to get some offense there, since you're probably going to be missing it elsewhere.
Mullinicks/Seitzer might be worth a try at 3B, and Ready can also play third. But is Jacoby or Harrah out there? I'm guessing Smalley isn't available at SS??
All in all, I would keep a close eye on the transaction wire. Maybe somebody will make an imprudent drop early on. And you could also try a pitching for hitting trade.... But overall I don't envy you this team.

Meant look for doubles (and triples) for power, not necessarily HRs.
