Can someone clarify this?

> -- Ballpark singles rating. An additional roll determines whether there is a single or a lineout. The probability varies by ballpark and whether the hitter is lefthanded or righthanded. The original result listed is ignored -- in effect, the result will be determined by "rolling against" the ballpark's singles rating (a random number from 1-20). If the number rolled is equal to or higher than the ballpark's rating for a left- or righthanded hitter, it is a single.

So have I been looking at singles backward the whole time. From reading this statement, which was taken from how to read a hitters card, it appears the lower the rating for singles for a stadium, the higher probability of a single. So in Jack Murphy which is rated 0, a ballpark single would occur on any number rolled. Is that right? It appears singles ratings are opposite ball park homer ratings.

That's a misprint on TSN' part. (Or at least it better be, because that's not how the board game is played.)

Thank you. My sanity has been saved for another day. I was really starting to wonder about everything I thought I knew. :?

Yes, it is a misprint. I've played enough games at the Murph and at high singles parks to be confident that the high singles numbers means a lot of singles and low means low.

I have literally played 1000's of games on the CD-ROM version (and 1000's more with the dice game before that). I can attest first hand that the >, with a ballpark rating of 0 for singles, is an automatic out. This typo was discovered long ago but never corrected by SOM.
