I THINK FOR THE MONEY COPPER IS THE BEST 1B. I USED HIM ALOT BACK IN THE 80'S IN THE FACE TO FACE DAYS AND ALWAYS SEEMD TO PUT UP GOOD NUMBERS.I WAS A BIG HERNADEZ FAN BUT COOP ALWAYS DID BETTER IN STRAT. IT IS HOLDING TRUE HERE, HER JUST FINISHED A 35 GAME HITTING STREAK WERE HE HIT FOR THE CYLCE HAD 20 JACKS AND 56 RIBS.

Ted Simmons, which also saves you money on a backup catcher.

Andre Thornton. At least he performs for well for me.

Will Clark always crushes the ball for me whether I'm in a pitchers or a hitters park.

I agree with Cooper, have never been dissapointed. Plus you usually can get him later in the draft. My next favorite is Thornton who is reasonably priced.

Clark hits anywhere, and has a good glove. He is expensive, however. JClark produces like hell, but is better as a DH.
If you get the right year, Martinez can be a good (at .75!).

I agree with Cooper, and I've used A.Davis with great success either
at 1B or DH, but don't leave out Hrbek, he has comp. stats with
guys that are more $'s...If your first choice doesn't work, J Thompson
can be a great replacement
