Yo 80s Owners! Should TSN Improve a Stale Product?

Postby Semper Gumby » Tue Oct 03, 2006 1:40 pm

Ain't it time that TSN freshens the mystery card 70s/80s/90s product?

Regular 2006 MLB season is done and the playoffs are upon us so TSN SOM loyal owners will likely winddown spending on the 2006 format (2005 season) soon.

Why hasn't TSN tossed us a real version upgrade besides splashing some cheap paint on the current format, e.g., home/away splits and owner names in the standings?

Perhaps we are too quiet but it should dawn on TSN that revenues can be generated by an off-season product such as the mystery card format.

Come on ... does anyone else care or do you enjoy spending your $20 - 25 on a game that is more than a few years old?

Without a new decade, I'm pretty much done with TSN strat after I run out of credits. (Only netplay for me.)

I've played 13 seasons. Don't know if that is considered "a lot", but I am not tired of it, yet.

Because we don't generate enough cash flow. There are ATG guys with 30,000 WINS! It is all about the benijamins

In my opinion, the answer IS NOT making a radical change to back to the 80's. Bernie has done a good job tweaking the game and that's been good enough for me. I also think that HAL is managing the bullpen better than ever before most recently.

I think the answer IS rolling out either "Back to the 70's" or "Back to the 90's" games. A whole new player set using mystery cards...HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE!! :D

I like this game a lot as it is, but I'd like to see them stretch it back, make it back to the 70's and 80's, ranging from say '68 to '92 or so (currently about '78 to '92). Then we could do more subsets like in ATG, which would be fun.

I new here but have loved strat for over 25 years, I love the back to 80's. I would like to se some players added..Seaver. koos, bench played some in the 80's just to name a few. I do like the idea of going further back and foward some, but leave the mystery card

Revised?

Someone seeing bullpen logic improvements without an announcement by TSN?

Hmmm .... I'm not buying it since every adjustment done by TSN usually comes with a forum announcement.

I know that TSN ran a small [i:f18f92001d]beta[/i:f18f92001d] test early summer and stopped it some 40 - 60 games into it. Feedback said - the changes looked promising .... not sure why TSN never released it.

Otherwise, I'd LOVE to see:

[b:f18f92001d]Player sets broken down from 1970 - 1999 with league ability to cull either decade players or AL / NL teams.[/b:f18f92001d]

And, possibly a better stats page for the front office. The CD-ROM version has some very basic stats such as Win / Loss vs LHSPs / RHSPs.

Wouldn't you love knowing your roster's RC/27 rating?
