MY TEAM HAS 4 INJURED PLAYERS. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF ANOTHER PLAYER WAS TO GET INJURED IN MY NEXT GAME? WOULD A PITCHER BE USED? I HOPE I DON'T FIND OUT!

Thats a good question. I would think it would be like the catcher thing. Both of you catchers can never be injured at the same time so I would think HAL would not let more injuries happen to your position players than what you need to field a team. Some of them may be playing at positions they are not qualified for but at least they are hitters.
This is only a guess though. Maybe someone knows the actual answer.

Is this true? I'm asking because one of my catchers has gone down for about 15 games, and I was wondering if I needed to find another backup.

I am sure that all SOM games are played with the same rules. I know that is a rule in the 05 Strat so I am sure it holds true for the 80's game. As long as you only have 2 players that are catcher elligible on your roster both can not be injured at the same time. However if you are starting one at catcher and one at DH when the catcher is injured, HAL will then substitute a non-catcher from the bench to catch the remainder of the game leaving your other real catcher at DH.

Thanks! This is really good to know. So now Butch Wynegar wears a magic shield of invulnerability while Buck Martinez is down for 13 games. Great news! :D

Actually...I remember reading a post that stated a manager had both his catchers injured, so I don't think it's true that there is any magic shield out there.
Also, I remember reading a post that Kent Tekulve played third base, so that may have been an overload of position players injured there, but I'm not sure.
Anyone from TSN have info on this?

The notion of Kent Tekulve playing third base creates an interesting mental image for anyone who actually saw him play.
I'm thinking of this tall, gaunt, righthander with glasses and a horizontally striped Pirates cap swooping in on a slow roller like Ichabod Crane, long arms and legs flying in all directions, then bending down from on high, gathering the ball up and slinging it sidearm to the befuddled first-baseman, his knuckles almost scraping the ground as he released the ball.
I'd pay to see that in real life. :D

I think the other C can only go down for the rest of the game.

I would like to see a box score of a game where all of one team's players that have a catcher rating were injured at the same time. I don't think anyone will be able to come up with this as I don't think it is possible.
I did have a game where I had one catcher injured and HAL pinch hit for my only other healthy catcher in about the 10th inning. The bad thing was that the game went on another 4 or 5 innings with an OF doing the catching. However I am 99.418% sure that HAL will not let all of your players who are catcher elligible on your roster get injured at the same time.
I would love to be proven wrong about this. Untill I see a box score showing otherwise I stand by what I have said.

I am playing a team tonight with 2 catchers and a multi positional backup that can catch where both his real catchers are injured for 7 and 9 games respectively. I did not look back in game logs to find out exactly when each were hurt. It is a 2005 league, I don't know if having that multi positional backup allows this, or there is no guarantee all your C's can't be hurt at the same time. Although I just looked and his 3rd C DHed last night and a non C rated player caught and his 2 C's have not played in about a weeks worth of games so I don't know what to conclude from that.
