Has anyone ever...?

Postby honestiago1 » Wed Sep 28, 2005 6:25 pm

I was wondering if anyone ever drafted a lineup that featured, say, FOUR very expensive players (say 6-7M or higher each), with all the another starting lineup around 1-2M in value. Is it even possible to draft that type of lineup?

Also: has anyone ever drafted a horde of mashers and tried to win in the Kingdome? (is the Kingdome even among the choices for 80s ballparks?)

I haven't got the guts. Consistent pitching keeps you in all sorts of games. But I'm sure someone here has a tale of how they bashed their way to a title.

(Future scenario: draft Clemens and 9-.75 pitchers. Draft nothing by HR hitters. Play in the Murph. Clemens goes 26-5 -- team record...? [just musing])

Take a look at the record book re: the Kingdome (top HR teams). Many have had success there. I've never tried it, although I'm about to do so in a theme league where all teams use the 'dome.

Re: the draft, there is no need to create a team that actually qualifies by position. While you must draft 10 pitchers (5 SP, 5 RP qualifiers), you can draft, for ex, 15 SS. I often throw a big ticket guy late on my autodraft card.

I finished 2nd and lost in the finals using the Kingdome. 2nd place alltime HRs, 1st place slugging alltime. Check the record books (Homers Aplenty).
