Any thoughts on what is wrong with this team?

I actually thought it would be one of my best.
I do know that I have Schmidt's worst card. .251 BA 20 HRs.
I also suspect I'm going to dump Henke. He's lost 6 games, blown 2 and since I switched him out of my closer slot in my manager settings an left the bullpen to HAL, HAL has been using Bob Kipper as my closer.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

No need to panic. Your SPs are struggling and you may want to move Bryn and Forsch (check out the hits vs. IPs). Re: the offense, can you improve Oester (even if you go to a 3, like Johnny Ray)? You could trade in Ruhle and Bankhead for 2 $0.75ers or lower priced RPs and use that $ for a better hitting 2B and, perhaps, SP improvements. You don't need 'em.
Schmidt's worst card is going to hurt you in the long run and you may consider dumping him. Lotta $ to play with.
I assume you platoon Seitzer and Easler?
Who's available on the waiver wire?

Seitzer and Easler are platooning.
I just added Bankhead and Ruhle to see if they could prop up my starting pitching, before I make a move on Smith. Forsch has always disappointed me.
At second, I could get Oquendo, he's available.
Third, the choices include Harrah, Rose, Tabler, Jacoby, Lansford, Nettles.

Oquendo can be very good.

I dont think you can afford to keep Schmidt with his worst card. Seitzer isnt giving you much either. There are lots of cheaper platoon options. For 3b you might try Jacoby, Cey, Mulliniks, Harrah or Parrish. I would stick with your SPs a little longer. You are not getting much from Dykstra. Have you considered changing him out?

Dykstra has concerned me, I've thought of moving Gwynn to CF

Just my opinion:
You need more HR power. After 54 games (1/3 way through season), you should have a couple of players in the double-digits, even in Olympic Stadium.
What you should do is figure out what's left in the FA market that can fill that need, then figure out who has to go to make that happen. You'll have to free up money and (maybe) a position or two. Schmidt will help with money.

If there are not any options you like in CF, moving Gwynn is nice flexibility to have. There are always some options to look at for the corner OF spots. I am sure you could find some 'pop' in the FA list for what you pay Dykstra. It wouldnt hurt your defense that much.

Home run power always avoided me for some reason.
I had hoped that one or two of Schmidt, obviously, Yount, Clark, Dykstra to some extent, Easler would have provided more clout than they have.
But the consensus seems to be that Schmidt has to go.

Hendrick, Hayes, Grubb, Baines and Pasqua are all worth a look if they are available on the FA list.
