It's one of his "clutch" $ cards. He has a couple of $ injuries on the left side and the right, I believe.

Actually, this was a partial reveal of Simmons card for you. Lots of people, especially those new to Start, aren't familiar with the concept of clutch used by the Strat engine. According to the model Strat uses, if there are 2 outs in an inning, and there is a runner in scoring position (2nd base or third base, doesn't matter whether 1B is occupied or not), then if the result of the play is off the batter's card and there is a $ symbol on the line, then ignore the result and use the following: any type of an out becomes a single**, and any type of a hit becomes a popout.
You can rule out the 79 and 85 cards.

Thanks for the info.
I didn't realize that a $ plus injury would still result in an injury.
Thought the $ replaced the whole thing.
I am truly enlightened now.

You guys are putting WAAAY too much thought into this.....The only card you can eliminate is Simmons 1985 card, because the injury is from a defensive-X play which resulted in a single.

I don't think so, RR. Defensive X plays only occur on PITCHER'S cards. And we all know that batters cannot get injured on the pitcher's card. I think the original assessment of the clutch hit being the inury roll is correct.

If injury is vs. a RHP it's 83
If vs. a LHP it's 80, 82, 83

Sorry I meant the "Outfielder B" roll not a defensive-X call....
Now I see that it HAS to be the clutch ($) injuries
